  1. The build quality has nothing to do with where it's manufactured….you're comparing two different products. It's not like the manufacturer gets to choose whether to use metal or plastic, they just follow a blueprint by the designer. A valid comparison would be 50mm f1.8 (made in Japan) vs 50mm f1.8 (made in Malaysia).

  2. Hi sir, i need your help as i have canon 800D with lens 50mm F1.4 and i tried so hard ta capture portraits with sharpness at 1.4 and always the subject not sharped !!
So Can you help me about it

  3. Damn… seems like I made a good choice buying the F/1.4 USM back when I was just starting out with a 60D. Seems like the lens still kicks butt all these years later. I use it now on a 5D Classic and a 5D Mark IV. It doesn't hold a candle to the new over-engineered RF mount offering, but for the price – you really can't complain. The images are plenty usable and very pleasant to look at, when portraits are considered (on full-frame, anyway).

  4. Why dont you use these type of lenses on people. Like its a portrait lens. And we see a wall as an exg… 🤔🤔🤔 I mean. I dont see the big of a difference. Its a wall……..

  5. Its maybe sharper when stoped to f1.8 but then there is no point of buying 1.4 lens if you steping it down to 1.8 😉

  6. Thank you very much for this review. I have the 1.8 and just bought the 1.4 at a pawn shop for $150 and another video showed the 1.8 being sharper but now I can see they must have had a defective one. I guess I'll keep both and use the 1.8 for video and the 1.4 for stills.

  7. Good video but i'd like to see the lenses used out in the field. Like having a human as a subject and not just a brick wall.
